How Age is Calculated

Age is calculated by finding the difference between your date of birth and today's date (or any date you specify). We count full years, then remaining months, then remaining days — accounting for leap years and varying month lengths.

For example, if you were born on January 15, 1995 and today is May 3, 2026: you are 31 years, 3 months, and 18 days old.

What is a leap year and does it affect my age?+
A leap year occurs every 4 years (with some exceptions) and adds February 29. If you were born on Feb 29, your "official" birthday falls on Feb 28 or March 1 in non-leap years. Our calculator handles this automatically.
